Job Title: Quality Matron
Location: Merseyside
Interim Pay Rate: £26.50 per hour - £29.50 per hour
Permanent Salary: £53,755 - £55,000 PA
(May include clinical on call)
The Quality Matron Role:
Are you an experienced nurse leader with an active NMC registration, passionate about delivery of high-quality care?
Cureyoursearch are supporting the onboarding of new services, including two care homes to delivery of high-quality care to the residents. Our client is looking for a highly skilled professional to undertake the role on a temporary basis for 3+ months (with a provisional opportunity to undertake the role permanently).
To encompass leadership, education, development, quality improvement, and management of the nursing teams within the care homes, with oversight and support to colleagues. The post holder will support with the quality improvement initiatives, innovation and transformation to ensure care and new clinical pathways are embedded across the system.
The Quality Matron Key Responsibilities:
The post holder will provide dedicated on-site support to complete an initial assessment into the current provision, including collaboration with external sources and asses on-going quality compliance with CQC regulations;
Develop and implement improvement plans, advising providers on service delivery and identifying gaps in key clinical areas;
Lead on quality concerns/ complaints, ensuring adult safeguarding policies and procedures are in line with organisational requirements;
Ensure robust systems are in place to report and manage incidents, escalating as appropriate and providing feedback to staff to ensure a culture of learning and transparency is adopted. Contribute and support integrated governance arrangements with the LA and other providers
Prioritise team workload and oversight of staffing requirements, across both units to meet safe staffing guidelines. Ensure daily ‘Safety Huddles’ are conducted and escalate any areas of concern.
Undertake line management responsibilities and oversight of staffing requirements, including clinical supervision, providing structure, direction and support to ensure that team functions are met;
Provide education and training, relating to quality and patient safety with recognition and deterioration of patients and escalation into established care pathways;
Utilise agreed risk management processes for adult health and care services and escalating issues as appropriate.
The Quality Matron Candidate:
1st Level Registered Nurse with valid PIN;
A degree/ relevant experience in a similar role, including clinical leadership expertise;
Extensive experience of working in care homes, including CQC regulatory requirements and improvements;
Management of patients with complex health needs/ long term conditions;
Proven communication of difficult messages to patients and families, in a compassionate and informative manner.
