Weatherford has an opening for a Plant Controller in Wallingford, Connecticut. You will be responsible for acting as a business partner to the management team of a manufacturing facility, enabling strong business performance and ensuring adequate controls. The position will provide day-to-day support to the management team in line with the performance objectives of the Manufacturing Director and in compliance with company controls and compliance. This position will report directly to the Manufacturing Controller and functionally to the Plant Manager.
Requirements
1. Control day-to-day Accounting and Finance Activities including job cost variance, cost roll activities, payable controls, cash flow projections and activities, CAPEX, Inventory Controls, Cycle Counts, JDE reporting and action on correction required, Hyperion upload and action on corrections required, involvement in banking finance and routine operation activities, and month end reporting, review, and analysis.
2. Prepare Budget, Forecast and comparisons.
3. Handle Statutory audit, Internal Audit, and financial reports.
4. Review and analyze daily shipments, receipts and Direct Labor Hours.
5. Involve in day-to-day manufacturing operations for Cost cutting and process improvements.
6. Prepare monthly targets for operation staff for shipments, Direct Labor hours and Inventory.
7. Control operational costs including operating supplies, Repairs, and Overtime.
8. Continually assess productivity and efficiency with a view to improve.
9. Plan and schedule equipment acquisition and storage, considering factors like availability, costs, and economic projections to meet customer requirements.
10. Develop periodical reports on jobs accomplished, personnel and equipment utilization, sales and inventory, generated revenue, and incorporated costs.
11. Monitor and coordinate with other departments the delivery of services, tools and/or equipment; compare records with contracts/purchase orders requirements and report discrepancies to Management.
12. Direct and coordinate activities of staff to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize profits.
13. Review timesheets of staff & equipment and the related financial dues.
14. Set and manage the production budget.
15. Ensure work assignments are carried out to the highest quality level.
16. Understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.
17. Perform various other duties assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
Education
1. Bachelor's Degree preferred in Accounting, Finance, Economics or comparable business-related field plus Professional degree.
Certifications
1. Advanced degree or certification(s) preferred.
Skills & Knowledge
1. Minimum of 8+ years of manufacturing accounting experience.
2. Comprehensive understanding of Hyperion and the monthly processes used to collect data.
3. Knowledge and application of US GAAP Technical and analytical proficiencies.
4. Attention to detail with ability to translate into the big picture.
5. Logical reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues.
6. Organization and multitask skills.
7. Strong work ethic - sense of urgency and ability to prioritize requests; ability to multi-task and to work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines while producing timely and accurate deliverables.
8. Ability to understand complex data and to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, demanding environment with time constraints.
9. Eagerness to accept diverse responsibilities and receptiveness to change.
10. Ability to work both independently and within a group environment.
11. Understanding of how systems are interfaced.
12. Hyperion - experience using HFM/Essbase as an Advanced End User including SmartView and FR Studio.
13. MS Office Suite Proficiency (use of macros and advanced Excel formula functionality).
