AMU is a fast paced environment comprising of a 50 bedded Unit. The unit cares for patients presenting with acute medical conditions covering a variety of specialities. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual that thrives in a fast-paced environment who aspires to deliver a high standard of quality care. The band 6 will assist in the coordination of patients from A&E to AMU. Provide clinical knowledge and skills to the team. Provide care for the acutely unwell patients.
Main duties of the job
1. To assess, plan and evaluate patient care, supporting in the provision of clinical expertise, whilst acting as a role model.
2. To assist in the effective management of the clinical area.
3. To always act in a manner consistent with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct, carrying out his/her duties in accordance with trust policies and procedures.
4. To lead, support, supervise and teach staff where appropriate.
5. To ensure a high standard of care is delivered to patients.
6. To ensure effective flow is carried out.

Job description
This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as a Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months. Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.
The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses and Midwives who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receive a full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely.
