Questech Recruitment are recruiting for a Automation & Controls Engineer (Service Role - Yorkshire Region) on behalf of our client in Leeds. Qualifications / Experience required: HNC/D in electronic and electrical engineering (or related subject) Apprenticeship trained as ‘instrument technician’ or ‘automation and controls engineer. 18th Edition At least 3 years work experience Must have a full driving licence The Role: Undertake ‘site surveys’ for potential projects Create ‘quotes’ for customer projects Develop electrical design, schematics, and drawings Research supplier products for assembly components Provide ‘project management’ support – FDS, SIS, HARA, LOPA, SSD, FAT, SAT, QAT and participate in presentations and meetings Troubleshoot issues, configuration programming and fault finding. In-depth Automation and Instrumentation knowledge using diagnostic tools and equipment, including web-based diagnostics incorporated into network devices and other software tools. Produce ‘risk assessment/method statements’ documentation Production and interpretation of a range of technical documentation (device manuals, operating procedures, schematics, fault reports, programs, systems). Support of installation, commissioning, shut down, start up and maintenance services. Configure, assist commissioning and continued support of industrial network solutions at all hierarchical levels of control system integration using the requisite tools and/or software. Use ‘quality assurance’ principles to ensure operation, consistency, and quantification of enhancement of manufacturing and process applications. Assist in ‘apprenticeship management’ and ‘mentoring’ Customer Relationship Management Contribute to continued development of engineering policy, standards and procedures. Work on Night Rota (1 week in 4 initially) answering calls from our customers and resolving any issues remotely wherever possible. Where it is not possible to resolve remotely, use the appropriate escalation procedures dependent upon the customer contract. Salary & Benefits: £42,000 - £47,000 depending on experience On call Rates for Rota and overtime.
