Band 6 - Associate Clinical Nurse Specialist
37.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Specialist Lung Cancer Nursing Team as an Associate Clinical Nurse Specialist.
This is your chance to work in a forward thinking organisation, in a role which supports the challenging and life-changing impact of a cancer diagnosis for our patients.
The role will involve supporting patients with cancer and carers, facilitating their pathway from the diagnostic stages, through treatment, living beyond treatment and into end of life care. Alongside the clinical expertise you will develop, the role will include ensuring people are offered holistic assessments, symptom control advice, psychological support, benefits advice, information and support in clinics and on the wards, liaison with all health professionals involved in the patients’ care and general administration of the service. The role will involve close liaison with the treatment centres.
Applicants should possess a genuine interest in Lung Cancer and palliative care as well as be able to demonstrate effective communication skills.
Experience in the field of Lung Cancer and Palliative Care would be advantageous, as would evidence of professional development. A Respiratory background will also be considered. You would need to be flexible, able to use your own initiative, work with a wide range of health professionals and be sensitive to the needs of patients and families.
