About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Fire and Gas Commissioning Engineer to join a dynamic Oil & Gas UK team. The successful candidate can be located UK wide near a main transportation hub. In this role, you will be responsible for commissioning and servicing Fire & Gas Detection Systems on both offshore installations and land-based sites. This position is part of our specialized Detection and Control team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Calibrating & Testing: Perform on-site calibration and testing of equipment.
2. Implementation: Develop and implement test procedures.
3. Analysis: Interpret Cause & Effect diagrams and procedures.
4. Troubleshooting: Investigate problems, diagnose, and repair faults.
5. Client Interaction: Liaise with clients and installation project engineers.
6. Supervision: Supervise and guide junior engineers.
7. Documentation: Write detailed reports and maintain documentation.
8. Technical Support: Provide technical support to clients and team members.
9. Safety: Ensure safe working conditions are maintained at all times.
10. Training: Train maintenance and operative staff on system operations.
Essential Qualifications:
1. Proven experience in Electrical Engineering.
2. Minimum academic Qualification in Electrical/Electronic or Control and Instrumentation Engineering.
3. Experience in interpreting client’s Technical Specifications.
4. Working knowledge of Microsoft STD packages.
5. Working knowledge of Fire & Gas Detection Equipment.
6. Experience of Tyco current Fire & Gas Detection Systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. HNC/HND in Electrical / Electronic Engineering.
2. FS Eng (TUV Certified).
3. Previous experience working as a Fire & Gas Commissioning Engineer.
4. Good understanding of Software based Systems.
5. Experience of Legacy Wormald/Tyco Fire & Gas Detection Panels.
6. Up to date Offshore Survival & Medical Certificates.
7. Full UK Driving License.
