Job summary We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, organised, diligent Band 5 Registered Nurse, who is interested in joining our research team based at North Devon District Hospital as a Clinical Research Nurse B5, 30 hours per week. Experience in cancer care would be advantageous for this post. You will be responsible for screening, recruitment, consent, data collection and retention of patients and carers into research studies and clinical trials across many specialities. You will be supporting our clinicians to deliver high quality research in a variety of settings. We support a diverse portfolio of research studies and clinical trials recruiting from a range of clinical specialities including, Oncology, Critical Care, Muskulo Skeletal, Emergency Care, Dementia, Neurodegeneration, Aging, Surgery, Gastroenterology, Paediatrics, Reproductive Health and Therapy Services to name but a few. In order to recruit research participants into our research portfolio, you will work with multidisciplinary teams and agencies across the North Devon District Hospital, the wider Trust and our community services. This will include working with our Nurse Specialists, Advanced Care Practitioners, Medics, and Allied Health Professionals. This requires a flexible and adaptable approach to working, and the ability to problem-solve in order to meet the challenges and needs of patients, their carers and families, clinicians and study sponsors, whilst delivering the requirements of research protocols. This portfolio of studies is varied, and often involves working with teams in the community setting, as well as in hospital. The role is a mix of recruitment to studies in these acute and community settings, as well as follow up appointments. On a day to day basis the Rosemoor research team are based in the Ladywell Unit at the North Devon District Hospital, Barnstaple. You will work closely with the other research nurses, assistant practitioners, administrators and the clinicians, as well as the wider Research and Development team. You will need to have an interest in clinical research and evidenced -based practice, and strong IT skills.
