Job Purpose
To ensure that all services operated by the Eqvitus Group maintain safe, compliant, and high-quality environments in accordance with CQC Regulation 15 (Premises and Equipment). The role also supports Regulation 17 (Good Governance) through proactive quality assurance monitoring, and ensures recruitment processes meet the requirements of Regulation 19 (Fit and Proper Persons Employed). This includes the use of digital systems for compliance tracking across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
Premises & Facilities – Regulation 15
Ensure all Eqvitius Group premises and equipment are safe, secure, clean, and well-maintained.
Conduct thorough inspections across all internal and external areas of the homes including resident rooms, communal spaces, kitchens, offices, service areas, and grounds.
Oversee maintenance schedules and ensure prompt action on repairs or hazards.
Manage contracts and compliance with statutory checks (e.g. gas safety, electrical testing, fire systems, water hygiene).
Maintain accurate and up-to-date digital records of checks, inspections, and remedial work.
Health & Safety
Act as the designated Health & Safety lead for the organisation.
Ensure that current and appropriate risk assessments are completed for all relevant areas.
Maintain full compliance with fire safety legislation including drills, equipment testing, and staff training.
Promote a safety-first culture across all sites and support continuous improvement in environmental safety standards.
Quality Assurance – Regulation 17
Contribute to the governance and continuous improvement of Eqvitius Group services by supporting the internal quality assurance framework.
Use digital platforms including:
Log my Care for premises checks, daily logs, and compliance audits
Eqvitius Group’s compliance dashboard and quality management tools
Microsoft Teams for internal communication and reporting
Google Drive to store and share evidence for audits and inspections
Support internal audits, action planning, and CQC inspection readiness by ensuring evidence is complete, up-to-date, and accessible.
Recruitment & HR Compliance – Regulation 19
Support the safe recruitment and ongoing compliance of staff across all Eqvitius Group services.
Ensure all pre-employment checks are completed in full, including:
Right to work verification
Enhanced DBS checks
Employment references and work history
Qualification checks and mandatory training
Maintain digital staff files and ensure they are up-to-date and compliant with CQC expectations.
Work closely with management and HR to ensure documentation for supervisions, appraisals, and training is in place.
Person Specification
Essential:
Experience in facilities, compliance, or HR/recruitment support in a regulated environment.
Knowledge of CQC Regulations 15, 17, and 19 and their application in health and social care settings.
Confident with digital systems, including compliance dashboards, Teams, Google Drive, and care management software.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Ability to work across multiple sites with minimal supervision.
Desirable:
NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar Health & Safety or Facilities qualification.
Experience supporting inspections or audits in CQC-regulated services.
Familiarity with Log my Care or equivalent systems.
Full UK driving licence (travel between sites is expected).
