Controls Engineer:
Our client is currently seeking a Controls Engineer to become part of their established team in Exeter. In this exciting industry, you will be responsible for ensuring that automation and data collection processes are designed, installed, commissioned, and maintained. This role will report directly to the Engineering Manager, but you will liaise across the business with various teams.
Responsibilities as Controls Engineer:
1. Implement project plans, supporting machine control refurbishment, equipment installation, improvement, and cost reduction projects.
2. Create and develop Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) code to control industrial machinery.
3. Establish and ensure ongoing maintenance of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
4. Improve machine PLC controls and processes to increase equipment effectiveness.
5. Work on equipment PLC data networks and enhance process data capture.
6. Put in place effective and efficient control system upgrade projects and improve control panel design.
7. Identify, specify, source, and purchase machines and equipment.
8. Identify and implement cost reduction and method improvement opportunities.
9. Buy parts and equipment for improvement works.
10. Provide technical expertise for the site.
11. Data Analysis.
12. Technical fault finding on equipment.
