Role Overview:
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant (Post-16), you'll support students across a range of subjects, helping them build the skills, confidence, and knowledge they need to succeed. You will assist with lessons, coursework, exam prep, and offer guidance on career pathways, further education, and apprenticeships.
Key Responsibilities of a Graduate Teaching Assistant (Post-16):
* Support students aged 16-19 in various subjects to help them achieve their academic goals.
* Provide one-to-one and small-group sessions to boost understanding and reinforce learning.
* Assist with coursework, exam preparation, and study skills to improve academic performance.
* Work with teachers to adapt learning materials to suit individual student needs.
* Create a positive, motivating environment to help students build confidence.
* Offer advice and guidance on career choices, further education, and apprenticeships.
* Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers to guide learning.
* Support students with additional needs or those facing learning barriers.
* Encourage self-discipline and independence in students.
* Ensure student well-being and uphold safeguarding policies.
Requirements to be a Graduate Teaching Assistant (Post-16):
* A degree in a relevant subject like Education, Psychology, Maths, Science, or Humanities (preferred but not essential).
* Previous experience working with young adults in education, mentoring, or tutoring (desirable).
* A strong passion for education and a commitment to supporting student success.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students and staff.
* Strong organisational skills, able to provide support across various subjects.
* A proactive approach to learning and professional development.
* An updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or willing to apply for one).
