The Role – Project Manager (Civils & FRC – Water Treatment Upgrade Works)
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of a £6 million water treatment upgrade project in Droitwich. The scheme involves extensive reinforced concrete structures (FRC), deep drainage, large-scale excavation, complex temporary works, and heavy groundworks.
This role requires a technically strong and commercially astute leader who can manage programme delivery, risk mitigation, and subcontractor coordination while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities
* Full project lifecycle management, ensuring strict adherence to programme, budget, and contractual obligations
* Oversee large-scale FRC structures, including reinforced concrete tanks, bund walls, slabs, retaining structures, and plant bases
* Lead on all temporary works coordination, including formwork, falsework, and propping systems to support critical structures
* Manage deep drainage works, large-diameter pipe installations, excavation, and ground stabilisation techniques
* Ensure strict health, safety, and environmental compliance, embedding best practices across all phases of the project
* Direct and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and supply chain partners, ensuring efficient sequencing of works and programme alignment
* Manage cost control, procurement schedules, and contractual obligations, ensuring financial targets are met
* Act as the primary point of contact for Tier 1 contractors, design teams, and client representatives, ensuring smooth stakeholder management
* Identify and resolve engineering challenges, collaborating with temporary works designers and structural engineers to ensure buildability
* Drive high standards of workmanship, ensuring quality benchmarks are met through structured QA/QC processes
Key Requirements
* CSCS Black/Gold Card
* SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
* CITB Temporary Works Coordinator Certification
* AP (Appointed Person) Blue Card
* First Aid Certification
* Strong background in water treatment infrastructure, reinforced concrete structures (FRC), and complex temporary works
* Proven experience managing high-value civils projects, with expertise in formwork, falsework, and in-situ concrete solutions
* Ability to drive programme efficiency, manage high-risk activities, and lead multidisciplinary teams on-site
* Strong commercial awareness, with experience in budget control, procurement, and contract administration
* Track record of delivering projects safely, on time, and to specification within live, operational environments
* Ability to liaise confidently with engineers, consultants, and regulatory authorities, ensuring technical and compliance requirements are met
