We have a fantastic opportunity at our Ridgeway Campus for an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support an individual with a PDA profile to join the team on a full time (37.5 hours per week), term time only, permanent basis.
Key responsibilities:
* To implement effective strategies to support an individual with a PDA profile
* Provide learning support on a 1:1 basis
* Take a lead role in the provision of support for a child with special educational needs with a focus on PDA
* Assess, manage and deliver learning support using knowledge and specialist skills
* To work with pupils, understanding how to motivate and encourage them to achieve and develop through the development of their attributes, skills and knowledge
* To work with the LSCO/RSENCO and other teachers to develop and implement Pupil Passports / ILPs/MSP
* To act as a Key Worker for an identified pupil, regularly liaising with parents and staff to ensure progress against Learning Plan targets
* To build and maintain successful relationships with pupil, treat them consistently and be concerned for their development as learners, supporting them and responding to their individual needs
* To complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for learning activities under an agreed system of supervision. This may involve joint planning with teachers, preparing and delivering learning activities for an individual
* To provide learning support within the context of our Self-Directed Learning Philosophy
You will:
* Have recent experience as a Teaching Assistant or a similar role or have a relevant life-experience and passion for working with students aged 7+.
* Have recent experience working with students with PDA
* Have knowledge, or willingness to learn, of the National curriculum and additional support needs.
* Have good communication skills written and verbal.
* Have an understanding of statutory frameworks relating to teaching
* Set an example of positive personal integrity and professionalism, with positive, appropriate and effective communications and relationships at all levels.
* Ensure high standards are maintained, progressed and promoted in all areas of work.
* Uphold and promulgate the OneSchool Global ethos within all areas of responsibility
