Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in The Home Counties in the search for Planning Policy Lead on an initial 6-month contract, then rolling.
We are looking for a confident and experienced planning policy Team Leader to manage a small team working on the their new local plan. We are looking for candidates with both technical and management experience, to lead, coordinate and prepare the team through the Regulation 19 stage of their local plan, with consultation scheduled for the end of 2025.
Key Responsibilities include:
·To lead and be responsible for the overall performance management of the service
·Successful implementation of service review outcomes within the designated contract duration
·Supporting Assistant Service Leads and senior officers so that they thrive whilst delivering targets and supporting strategic goals
·These duties and responsibilities should be regarded as neither exclusive nor exhaustive as the post-holder may be required to undertake other reasonably determined duties and responsibilities.
To apply for this roles, it is essential that you have extensive experience working and leading a Local Authority Planning Policy team (Team leader level also considered). The successful candidates must have good fundamental and technical knowledge of all relevant planning legislation and policies.
It would be beneficial to hold a Post-graduate degree in planning, regeneration or a related discipline, and have the eligibility for membership of RTPI.
The council are looking for candidates who will be able to hit the ground running and are offering hybrid working arrangements.
Carrington West Pay Rate - £500per/day (Negotiable depending on experience)
