2 Part Time positions available: 2 care assistants are required for a young disabled man to provide personal care at home and to access leisure activities in the local community and at home. Role 1 is 9 hours per week for 3 weeks and the 4th week the weekly hours to include a Saturday will be 13 hours. Role 2 is for 4 hours per week for 3 weeks, with the 4th week to include a Saturday being 8 hours. PLEASE SPECIFY WHICH ROLE YOU ARE APPLYING FOR.
Requirements
We are seeking a support worker who is honest, sensitive to and able to positively manage and respond to the needs of the young man, promoting privacy, dignity and maintaining confidentiality at all times. The successful applicant will have an understanding nature and be supportive and patient with the ability to manage situations and vulnerabilities. The candidate should be enthusiastic, resourceful, and proactive and have a good sense of humour. Excellent communication skills are essential; therefore, the candidate must be thoughtful and considerate in their communication and actions.
A confident driver with a full clean driving licence and able to drive a large, adapted vehicle is also essential.
Experience preferred and must be a nonsmoker. The position may suit a person with either personal or work experience with people who have special needs, communication difficulties or disabilities.

Job Description for both roles:
The role includes: personal care, hoisting, undressing, showering, dressing, and assisting with evening meal and drinks.
Collecting from the day centre and taking out for a light dinner and on to a swimming group for disabled people.
Required to assist with hoisting, changing for the pool, assisting in the pool and dressing again afterwards.
To assist with accessing the local community, including bowling, cinema, shopping, games and activities at home, and assist with personal care.
Role 1: Hours of Work
Monday 17.00 - 18.30
Thursday 15.00 - 21.00
One Saturday 14.00 - 18.00
(Some flexibility is required to allow for cinema screen timings etc.)
Additional hours may be available.
Role 2: Hours of Work
Monday 17.00 - 18.00
Thursday 19.00 – 21.00
One Saturday 14.00 - 18.00
