Westerings Primary Academy, a popular school celebrated for its innovative teaching methods and beautiful woodland setting adjacent to Hockley Woods, is looking for a passionate and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). We are renowned for our creative use of technology, outstanding sports provision, outdoor learning in our unique setting and exceptional welfare and behaviour support.
As a HLTA, you will work closely with teachers to enhance students' learning and independence. You will support curriculum access, encourage participation and celebrate achievement(s). This role offers more influence on education than a teaching assistant role through covering lessons, assisting with planning and leading parts of lessons, and managing TAs.
You will also be expected to:
* Support parents in their children's learning, contributing to parent meetings.
* Administer and assess tests, and invigilate exams.
* Support teachers with marking and lesson planning.
* Design and deliver intervention strategies for students not making expected progress.
* Organise a positive learning environment, including resources that meet the needs of all students.
* Fulfill standard TA roles, supporting access to learning, promoting independent learning skills and positive behaviour.
* Collaborate with staff and parents to support all students.
