What's involved with this role: Interim Parking Engineer – Transport Services Job Ref: Merton 5257120 Pay Rate: £28.80 per hour PAYE Hours per week: 35 Monday – Friday, normal working hours Role Length: This opening assignment is for 12 months City: Morden, London The purpose of the role is to provide a comprehensive parking management service to the benefit of residents and businesses in the Borough and to ensure a high quality of services and advice to the Council, its clients, partners and the general public. Key Responsibilities: Deliver the implementation of various type bays such as EV parking bays; cycle hire bays, Cycle hanger bays. Manage and co-ordinate a programme of parking schemes ranging from minor amendments or additions in parking controls to the identification, development and implementation of on-street parking schemes including CPZs; time limited parking and CPZ reviews. Ensure that Council’s statutory responsibilities are met in terms of parking safety and access. Continually assess and keep the Commissioning Manager informed of demands and priorities required and provide him/her with relevant statistics on the team’s performance and needs and to assess and report on the quality of the group's output. Provide cover on a day to day basis in the absence of the Commissioning Manager on matters directly relating to the responsibilities of the post holder and refer more complex issues for decision where early responses are required. Ensure that corporate and departmental health and safety policies are implemented at all times and to raise any concerns regarding their operation, or any other health and safety matters, with the appropriate line manager.
