Mechanical Fitters are required to start ASAP to join a short-term refurbishment project working for a leading client in the Rail Rolling Stock Industry based at their depot in Widnes. The work is focused on stripping out the interiors of the train carriages.
Work will be on rotating shifts, with two weeks on days followed by two weeks of nights. The shift pattern rate is £21.41 PAYE and £27.61 Umbrella.
Ideally, candidates will have experience working within the Rail Rolling Stock industry, but candidates from other backgrounds such as Aircraft and Automotive will also be considered.
Key Skills and Requirements:
1. Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent with associated technical qualifications (ONC/HNC/City & Guilds) or recognized equivalent.
2. Mechanical bias is essential for this position.
3. Coach builder/Vehicle builder experience.
4. Key experience of interior vehicle refurbishment of trains, planes, and cars/coaches.
5. Experience of removing seats/refitting of panels, etc.
6. Experience of taking things apart and putting them back together.

5. Ability to work under own initiative.
Full PPE will be provided free of charge.
Basic tool kits will be supplied by Morson. The cost will be borne by the contractor but paid back over 8 weekly installments; however, the kit will be yours to keep when the cost has been recouped. Final cost of the kit will depend on the project you would start.
Aptitude/Pre-Onboarding:
1. D&A testing.
2. Any additional health monitoring where required.
