Job Title: Principal Engineer – Electrical Calibration

What you’ll be doing:
* Perform and supervise high level calibration / repair of electrical test, measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) including resource management and calibration workload signoff
* Write, review, and approve calibration procedures and measurement uncertainty budgets
* Take part in UKAS (ISO 17025) audits and quickly achieve UKAS signatory status
* Deliver specific, target driven on the job training / experiential leaning to apprentices / lesser experienced team members
* Professional communication with technical stakeholders including consultation on new measurement technologies
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
* Extensive experience in a precision Electrical metrology laboratory environment
* Understanding of quality systems & standards (ISO 17025 / ISO 9001)
* Relevant academic qualification (STEM Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent)
Desirable:
* Existing UKAS signatory status for Electrical Calibration
* Experience in creation of measurement uncertainty budgets to ISO 17025 level
* Experience in use of automation software (Fluke Metcal, Met/Track, Met/Teams, Labview)
* Experience in Mechanical / Dimensional / Temperature calibrations

The (ICS Electrical) team:
The calibration department currently supports 30,000 pieces of equipment per year, ranging from traditional analogue equipment through to state-of-the-art digital systems. ICS Electrical focuses the calibration of TMDE capable of making AC/DC voltage, current, resistance, inductance, capacitance, and time & frequency measurements. ICS Electrical supports calibrations in a dedicated laboratory as well on site around the Barrow Submarines Site and Walney Aerodrome. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
