Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available The role Join our Networks Finance team as an Assistant Accountant and play a key role in managing the financial performance of over 20,000 electricity connection projects across southern England each year. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the delivery of essential infrastructure while enhancing your finance expertise. You will Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate financial control, cost allocation, and achievement of financial targets. Manage the review and closure of completed connections projects in your assigned regions, ensuring compliance with Ofgem regulations regarding profit margin and supporting regulatory reporting. Act as a key point of contact for Cost Analysts, offering expertise to the regions on project closure, ensuring that project workbooks are completed accurately and on time. Monitor project profitability and work with stakeholders to ensure we are meeting gross profit targets on a monthly basis, challenging overspends on projects and implementing solutions. Provide financial guidance and training to networks business staff on project accounting, including project billing processes. Support the Operations Finance Manager with account reconciliation and month-end regional reporting. You have A finance professional with a solid grounding in finance qualified to HND level in accounting (or equivalent) as a minimum. Experience gained in a regulated business would be advantageous. Experience with Oracle EBS including project billing, as well as strong MS Excel skills. The ability to collaborate effectively within project teams and take the lead when necessary. Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain key relationships. You'll also be required to visit regions on a regular basis to support business as required on connection activities.
