THALES are looking to recruit a passionate & driven Production / Manufacturing Manager / APRU Manager (Autonomous Production & Repair Unit) to develop and consolidate Industrial operations to ensure a robust end to end supply chain to enable reliable deliveries to a vital UK MOD programme whilst continuing to support future growth in this market for our Under Water Systems (UWS) Division.
This role is a FTC for 12 months Maternity Cover.
Thales Under Water Systems (UWS) in Templecombe have developed a new state of the art industrial capability to produce outboard submarine hull array equipment following a c£30M facilities and process investment program.
This role would suit a high calibre individual who is working as a Production or Manufacturing manager within a similar industry.

What will you deliver?
* Responsible for all the industrial functions of a production line or several work cells with a lower complexity, by managing teams to guarantee the reach of the operational objectives.
* Contribute to the elaboration and the deployment of the industrial strategy (MTIP) of the concerned perimeter (competitiveness).
* According to the implemented organisation, elaborate the operating budget of the concerned perimeter (MYB) and guarantee the reach of objectives and the delivery of associated results.
* Be responsible for the strict respect for current regulations in terms of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) within the concerned perimeter.
* Guarantee the good industrialization of products, and develop new processes, standards or operational plans upon the business strategy within the industrial domain.
* Interface with others within the organization (Operational) on new industrial proposals and programmes (Continuous Improvement Plans, Change Management).
* Identify and analyse complex questions, and improve, change or adapt existing methods and techniques within the Industrial domain.
Who are we looking for?
* Strong understanding of the MOD environment
* Degree level qualification or equivalent in either Manufacturing Systems/logistics or Manufacturing Engineering.
* Operations management and control
* Lean/continuous improvement techniques and change management.
* Operational financial awareness, including operational budgets and factory cost modelling (Direct £1M, Shared £10M and Sales throughput £30M)
* Effective management of complex industrial activities and projects
* Knowledge of MRP2 principles
* Experience of having 30-40 direct reports
