Job Title: Tool Store Operative

Job Duties:
1. Provide Engineering and Logistic support to the Maintenance team.
2. Assist with all logistic requirements and administration in support of equipment, component, servicing, and repair operations.
3. Ensure professional knowledge of stores accounting and Tool Control procedures remains current.
4. Be responsible to the Hangar and Tool store supervisor for control and management of Logistics, Material, Support, and Tool Control elements as directed by the Logistics Supervisor.
5. Hold authorisations to the minimum level required as detailed in OP 1103, IAW individual Record of Engineering Authorisations (REA).
6. Maintain technical currency and authorisation through the training program and reading disseminated information.
7. Manning the Tool Store and issuing tools and support equipment IAW MAM-P Operating Procedures, ensuring no controlled items are released without the appropriate tally and signature.
8. Seek permission from the Aircraft / Engineering Controller before releasing tool store items to other units.
9. Restrict and control access to the tool store at all times during the shift period.
10. Perform general activities as directed by the Issue Centre Custodian, including regular inspections and maintenance of Hangar equipment, fittings, and Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
11. Assist in the management of the Ground Support Equipment.
12. Provide full service to the WCM team in maintaining tooling, tool outfits, and TME (Test & Measuring Equipment) including management through the Calibration Bay.
13. Ensure correct levels of POL and general supporting items of equipment are available to support 7 aircraft, monitoring and recording all batch numbers.
14. Inform the Issue Centre Custodian of any loss or damage to tools or equipment under control of the tool store.
15. Assist the Issue Centre Supervisor in managing the Logistics Department by providing logistics support to the aircraft.
16. Liaise with supply chain departments to ensure efficient communication and supply chain maintenance.
17. Promote and maintain correct stores procedures in accordance with the Defence Logistics Framework and standards.
18. Issue and control consumables, ensuring batch details are recorded.
19. Handle stores delivery and collection using mechanical handling equipment where appropriate.
20. Monitor the return of unserviceable assets back through the stores, ensuring a full audit trail.
21. Assist in control and maintenance of all applicable technical publications / CIETP for personnel in support of the Issue Centre Supervisor.
22. Assist in recording and incorporating all amendments to technical publications.
23. Assist with Aircraft Movements as a safety number when tasked by the Aircraft / Engineering Controller or Ground Crew supervisor.
24. Carry out the drawing of building keys at the start of shift, opening & securing the Hangar and JFOC, and returning keys to the Station Guardroom on a rota basis.
