GSL Education are seeking a compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join a dedicated team at a school in Wimborne. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to support students with mental health challenges, helping them thrive in an inclusive and nurturing environment.
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will provide essential support to students, ensuring their emotional and mental well-being are addressed alongside their academic development.
Responsibilities of the Mental Health Support Worker:
* Offer one-on-one support to students experiencing mental health difficulties, helping them manage and cope with challenges.
* Work closely with teachers and school staff to identify students who may need extra support.
* Assist in the development of strategies and action plans to support students' emotional well-being.
* Create a safe and supportive environment where students can discuss their concerns and access the help they need.
* Contribute to group activities or individual sessions aimed at developing students' coping strategies and mental resilience.
* Maintain accurate records and work closely with parents, and professionals to ensure continuity of support.
Requirements of the Mental Health Support Worker:
* Experience working with students or individuals with mental health issues is desirable.
* A genuine passion for supporting students’ mental health and well-being.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with students and other professionals.
* A non-judgmental, empathetic, and patient approach to supporting students.
* Eligible to work in the UK and have an Enhanced DBS on Update Service.
