Care Assistant
Sherbourne Lodge – Cambridge
Reports to: Deputy Manager and Registered Manager
Key Responsibilities:
· Personal Care: Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
· Mobility Support: Help residents with mobility issues, including transferring from bed to chair, walking, and using mobility aids.
· Medication Management: Administer medications as prescribed and maintain accurate records.
· Companionship: Provide emotional support and companionship, engaging residents in conversations and activities.
· Housekeeping: Perform light housekeeping duties such as making beds, tidying rooms, and laundry.
· Meal Assistance: Assist with meal preparation, serving, and feeding residents as needed.
· Care Plans: To follow the residents care plan and risk assessments and to be able to update them accordingly
· Health Monitoring: Observe and report any changes in residents’ health or behaviour to the senior care staff.
· Safety: Ensure a safe environment by following health and safety guidelines and protocols
· Team: Work as team to achieve the best outcomes for the residents which we support
· Policies and Procedures : To be able to work in line with the organisation policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
· Previous experience in a care setting is preferred but not essential.
· Compassionate and patient with a genuine desire to help the elderly.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
· Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Working Hours:
· Flexible shifts, including weekends and evenings.
