Our Building Services team is looking for a Multi-Skilled Shift Technician to join the team on-site at one of our projects in London.
The purpose of the role is to undertake planned preventative maintenance, testing, repairs, and new installation work covering a wide range of equipment, services, systems, and buildings associated with the running of a large hospital. The post holder shall perform CP duties for which they are suitably experienced, trained, or qualified and appointed.
You’ll:
* Support the Estates Management in the provision of a 24hr maintenance Service within the LRH.
* Comply with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including Health and Safety legislation and in accordance with Health Technical Memorandums (HTM) and Health Building Notifications (HBN).
* Take responsibility for the maintenance of hospital equipment, plant, services, and systems including inspection and testing of electrical and mechanical equipment and installations (including portable appliances).
* Work safely on mechanical systems in accordance with all statutory mechanical regulations and health and safety legislation as appointed Competent Person for SFS on one or more of the following systems:
o Boiler & Pressure Systems
o Medical Gas
o Confined Spaces
* Take responsibility for the maintenance of all aspects of mechanical systems including HVAC plant, washroom services, sterilisers, bedpan macerators/washers, disinfectors, and other mechanical equipment ancillary plant and systems.
* Actively participate in the operation and control of the engineering planned maintenance scheme and complete all report sheets and test certificates where necessary.
* Be the Responsible Competent Person for working on and isolation of electrical and/or mechanical systems.
* Specify and, where required, source and order specialist materials and equipment required for the task within the Estates Department.
* Have BTEC/HNC or City & Guilds Craft certificate or equivalent.
* Have a recognised apprenticeship.
* Hold a Certificate in 17th Edition IEE Regulation (Current).
* Be defined by the latest edition of The Electrical Safety Code for Low Voltage Systems for Competent Person (LV).
* Be a Competent person for "other" mechanical systems.
* Have experience of building maintenance and systems.
* Have experience of working in a hospital environment.
* Have experience of working on specialist hospital equipment.
* Have experience of lone working.
* Knowledge of hospital specifics (HTM’s).
* Knowledge of hospital Health Building Notifications (HBN).
* Problem-solve technical issues, fault diagnosis, and solution finding.
* Supervise maintenance assistants and check, evaluate work undertaken by either SFS staff or their specialist sub-contractors. The post holder will be flexible and adaptable within their existing competency commensurate and will at all times display a can-do attitude.
