In our Additive Manufacturing business, we offer the widest alloy range of metal powders on the market, under the world-renowned Osprey brand. We’re now looking for a Product Manager to develop this extensive product portfolio. The Product Manager will work with customers, production, technical, sales and all parties associated with the metal powder business, to develop and manage the product portfolio. To lead and plan all aspects of the product life cycle, from inception through introduction into full commercialisation, maturity and rationalisation. About You We are looking for a skilled and motivated Product Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in product management and a proven track record in a commercial environment. This role requires strategic thinking and the ability to work across functional, cultural, and geographic boundaries to enhance business performance. You will have excellent communication skills, strong technical knowledge, motivation and negotiation skills, financial and market knowledge, research and analytical skills, and a highly organised and structured way of working. Educated to at least degree level (or equivalent) is required. A degree in a science, engineering or materials/metallurgy discipline would be advantageous. This role can be offered as either office based, at our site situated in Neath, South Wales, or as a hybrid role, but requires regular travel to the production site in Neath. Important responsibilities include : Working closely with the sales teams - define and implement the product strategy and product portfolio for the global market. Provide strategic oversight of all products in the portfolio. Understand all costs associated with the business and use this together with profit targets and strategies to determine product pricing. Identify new product opportunities. Manage and coordinate New Product Introduction initiatives as well as ‘pruning’ the product portfolio and product rationalisation. Engage with the purchasing teams to identify the requirements for raw material sourcing, including long term contracts and geographic sourcing strategies. Manage and coordinate the Production Sales Inventory process to ensure the best balance between what products are made where and when, against sales demand and incorporating lean and strategic inventory holdings to optimise business performance. Be a subject expert on market size, segments, customer base and applications. Understand all aspects of local, regional and global markets and the competitor landscape to take decisions and provide market insight and expertise; including trends, competitor developments, pricing, user needs, new product ideas, and customer perceptions of brand. Liaise with all functions, especially sales, marketing and communications to ensure suitable marketing plans and all necessary (marketing) literature is in place in a timely manner and to high quality standards. Research, launch, or reposition products in marketplace to maximize sales and growth. Support Sales with information about our USP and product differentiation.
