Serco: HMP Doncaster Permanent, Full Time Up to £39,000 per annum Corporate Company Benefits HMP Doncaster is a category B local resettlement prison situated in South Yorkshire, housing a male population of up to 1145 individuals, approximately 200 of whom are young offenders aged 18-20. As a resettlement prison we work with our prisoners, particularly those serving less than 12 months, to ensure that they have the support they need for resettlement as well as access to the services and support available to them after release. The majority of our prisoners are released back into South Yorkshire. Here at Serco, we are looking for a Catering Manager who has experience working in a commercial catering department within a prison setting or similar environment. You will manage the busy catering department for our prisoners and 400 staff, therefore it is imperative you have significant experience including ordering and deliveries, budgeting, auditing and staff management. This role requires the resilience to manage a constant workload with conflicting demands to achieve timely targets, you will be expected to: Work alongside the Head of Learning and Skills for all areas of recruitment Complete PDRs, with all directly line managed staff members, within agreed timescales Motivate and provide solutions for prisoners not engaging in activities Be a part of the Reducing Reoffending Group and fully participate in meetings when requested. Monitor prisoner attendance in catering through a number of data recording systems Assist in responses to formal Prisoner complaints/queries, taken appropriate remedial action where necessary What you will need to do the role Firstly, you must hold Level 3 Catering qualification and a clear advantage will be Leadership and Management qualifications. As with any role at this level, you will have excellent IT, written and communication skills and be very well organised. In addition, your ability to use a range of management and leadership styles to support and motivate others will be evident and clear to succeed to in this role.
