What skills and experience we're looking for
Langer Academy have recently opened a SEND hub for children with complex learning difficulties and we are looking to appoint 3 dedicated and enthusiastic teaching assistants to support the learning and personal care of the children within the hub.
The Hub caters for 13 children who all have difficulties in communication, need support to socialise and assistance with personal care. The ideal applicant would have had experience of working with children with additional needs and have used communication methods such as PECS or Makaton, have helped children overcome sensory difficulties, and knows how to support children in developing early self help skills. We are looking for motivated and caring individuals who enjoy being part of a team where the children are at the heart of all we do and people who are willing to go the extra mile for the children in our care. Training can be provided for the right applicants – it is your enthusiasm and dedication that needs to shine through. Applicants are required to have secured a minimum of a Grade C in GCSE English and Maths.
Visits to the Hub are encouraged when you make your application so you can see the Hub in action and meet the staff that are already in position to support you.
