About The Role:
This role is based at our Ilford site.
Our Rail Engineering/Fitter Apprenticeship gives you the opportunity to gain solid practical experience across a range of disciplines. Throughout the three year apprenticeship, you will be working towards completing a Level 3 Engineering Fitter qualification. You will combine the academic college studies with real life work based experience across our organisation. You will have the opportunity to build and gather evidence of your competence whilst working towards a formal qualification.
You will also be involved in:
* Carry out Mechanical and Electrical Modifications on Existing Rolling Stock
* Carry out Assembling, Validating and Verifying of Components
* Carry out Electrical Testing and Verification
* Carry out Riveting, Bonding, Sealing, Torque Tightening, Crimping
* Carry out New Mechanical and Electrical Installations on Existing Rolling Stock
* Carry out Product Sale Preparation
* Carry out Vehicle Movements
* Operation of Plant Equipment including Fork Trucks and Cranes
* Understand and Execute EHS and Quality Requirements

This apprenticeship programme is the start of your progression into technical expert roles. We are looking for innovative and ambitious talent to become our future leaders and senior managers- upon completion of the apprenticeship programme, there will be the opportunity to step up into these roles.
Entry Requirements:
* GCSE or equivalent in 5 subjects including Maths, English and Science at Grades 5-9
Candidates will also need to have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as having strong attention to detail and being able to work in a team. Candidate should also be logical and use thier initiative.
