You will be working across adult services in Sandwell, supporting adults and the elderly.
Your new role
Your main role as a support worker will be ensuring the safety and comfort of service users. You will predominantly be working within elderly homes, so as well as carrying out tasks to ensure the smooth running of the home, you will be providing personal care and encouraging service users to be as independent as they are able to be.
You will be working with residents from a variety of backgrounds and varying levels of needs, meaning you will need to be adaptable and resilient. Despite the challenges, this will be a rewarding role.
What you'll need to succeed
1. A minimum of L2 qualification in Health and Social Care
2. At least 6 months experience in the last 2 years in similar settings
3. Experience and willingness to get involved and be a proactive member of the team, taking part in activities
4. Experience of dealing with challenging behaviour
5. Be passionate about supporting vulnerable people and giving them the best chances
6. Excellent communication both with service users and staff
