Are you a primary-trained teacher with a passion for inclusion? Do you want to make a real difference by working with secondary-aged students in a small, nurturing SEN class? If so, we’ve got the perfect opportunity for you in Derby!
This role is all about embracing the diverse needs of children, many of whom are managing social, emotional, and mental health challenges (SEMH) and have varying levels of autism. You’ll be stepping into a classroom with an experienced and dedicated teacher who’s just been promoted, so you’ll have strong support and much of the planning will be done for you. Some of these children are academically gifted, so you’ll need to be adaptable, using your expertise to engage them at their individual levels.

* Guidance from an Experienced Teacher: Work alongside a seasoned professional who’s recently been promoted, giving you the chance to collaborate and learn.
* Opportunity to Make an Impact: You’ll be working with a lovely group of children, each with unique needs. Your creativity, patience, and passion for inclusion will help shape their educational journey.
What We’re Looking For:
* A primary-trained teacher who can bring a fresh perspective to working with secondary-aged students.
* A true passion for inclusion and nurture, with the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet a diverse range of needs.
* Experience with SEMH and autism is beneficial, but the school is open to candidates from non-SEN backgrounds who are enthusiastic about working with special needs children.
* Someone who values teamwork, is child-focused, and thrives in a close-knit, supportive environment.
Key Details:
* Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM.
* Duration: Full-time, from after half-term through to the end of the academic year.
* Pay: £180 - £220 per day, based on experience.
* Location: Derby, with a focus on building strong connections with the local community.
* Interview Timeline: Immediate interviews for the right candidate, with a flexible start date to suit you.
What’s in It for You?
* Work in a Supportive School: Be part of a team that values every staff member and is committed to building a true sense of community.
* Professional Development: A great opportunity to develop your skills in SEN education, with guidance from a passionate, experienced teacher.
* Variety & Impact: Make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with unique needs, ensuring they have access to education tailored to them.
