Role and Responsibilities As Scientist I within the Evotec in vivo scientific team you will participate in the organisation, conduct, and delivery of pre-clinical studies to support multiple drug discovery projects. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Ensure compliance with established procedures, protocols, and quality, regulatory, and safety standards. Prepare for in vivo studies, including material preparation, facility setup, and microorganism cultivation. Conduct in vivo procedures, process ex vivo samples, and provide support across multiple disease areas as required. Adhere to Evotec guidelines for accurate documentation of laboratory experiments. Contribute to data analysis and the writing of study reports. Maintain a high standard of laboratory workspace organisation, supporting operational tasks such as compound receipt and inventory management. Skills & Competencies Enthusiastic and flexible, positive ‘go the extra mile’ approach Good organisational and time management skills Ability to execute experiments in an effective and timely manner, reporting progress to senior scientist or study leaders Good attention to detail and excellent standards of data capture Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Proficiency in IT, including routine use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and software such as GraphPad Prism Highly adaptable and able to work effectively in a fast-moving environment Ability to work with a closely interacting team to deliver to tight timelines A flexible approach to working hours, and willingness to provide out of hours cover depending on study requirements are essential Education & Experience BSc (or equivalent) in a life sciences discipline with relevant focus OR equivalent relevant experience Experience with laboratory animal work is essential. Being a current UK Home Office Personal licence holder is also essential (PIL A, B & C) Experience working in a laboratory at containment level 2, working with bacteria, fungi or viruses would be advantageous Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry or CRO environment would be advantageous although not essential Benefits We offer a competitive salary and benefits package including pension scheme, holiday package, private health insurance and company bonus scheme.
