We are currently seeking a dedicated Operations Engineer to join our team and support our installation, service, and maintenance operations.Role PurposeThe Operations Engineer is responsible for the effective servicing, maintenance, and installation of outdoor gym and playground equipment (including safety surfacing) across various sites in the UK. The position is based at our head office in Aylesbury but requires daily travel nationwide.Key ResponsibilitiesSite Visits & TravelDrive to sites across the UK to conduct maintenance, repairs, and small installations of gym and playground equipment.Liaise with clients and represent Caloo positively and professionally on-site.Service & MaintenanceCarry out scheduled servicing and safety checks of equipment.Perform repairs and remedial works on site to ensure equipment remains safe and compliant with relevant standards.InstallationsAssist with and/or lead small installations of new equipment.Ensure all work is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards.Warehouse & Depot Support (when not on site)Unload deliveries and containers, load lorries, and manage goods in/out.Assist with forklift operations (where licensed) and engage in manual handling tasks, adhering to health and safety guidelines.Help identify, pick, and prepare products for client orders.Coordinate or assist with completing works for customer orders and remedial actions.Maintain stock control and general warehouse housekeeping.Organise and complete any other operational tasks as required by the Company.Health & Safety & ComplianceComply fully with all internal and statutory health and safety procedures and policies.Work in accordance with current legislation, including CDM regulations where applicable.Customer EngagementProvide excellent customer service while on-site, communicating effectively with clients and stakeholders.Address customer queries and concerns swiftly and professionally.Person SpecificationEssential Skills & AttributesFull UK Driving Licence (max 3 points) with willingness and ability to drive long distances.Experience servicing/manufacturing mechanical products (e.g., gym/playground or similar equipment).Physically fit with the ability to perform heavy lifting.Strong practical skills and a can-do attitude.Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused approach.Diligent, flexible work ethic and meticulous attention to detail.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Willingness to stay overnight in hotels for mid-week travel, as required.Engineering / mechanical knowledge.Desirable Qualifications & ExperienceRPII Operational Inspector qualification (or willingness to gain this).CSCS card.Formal Health & Safety / First Aid qualifications.Certified counterbalance forklift driver (within the last three years) training can be provided if not currently licensed.Knowledge of mild steel fabrication / finishing processes.Understanding of current CDM regulations and other relevant site Health & Safety requirements.Previous experience in site installation work in the playground, gym, or associated sector.Additional InformationThis is a full-time, permanent position, with standard working hours of 8:00 a.m.
