About the Role
Thorpe Bay Surgery is looking to recruit an advanced clinical practitioner/prescribing paramedic/advanced nurse to join our multi-disciplinary team, to help us to transform and modernise pathways of care, enabling the safe and effective sharing of skills across traditional professional boundaries.
The successful candidate may come from a range of professional backgrounds. As an experienced healthcare professional, educated to master's level, they will have developed the skills and knowledge to allow them to take on an expanded role and scope of practice caring for patients.
The post-holder will:
1. Demonstrate a high level of expertise within the specialist service providing advice, education and support to staff, patients, their families, and carers.
2. Be practising autonomously as an advanced clinical practitioner within the designated speciality area to provide patient-centred clinical care. This will encompass the skills of advanced clinical assessment, examination, diagnosis, and treatment within an agreed scope of practice throughout the directorate.
3. Support new ways of working that emphasise a more efficient and patient-focused service, and will ensure the safe treatment, referral, and discharge of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed presentations in their area.
4. Have responsibility for leading the ongoing development of clinical practice and standards of care within the service, including the development of policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines in collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required:
1. Professional registration with relevant professional body: NMC, HCPC or GPhC
2. Post-graduate qualification in specific speciality, or equivalent experience
3. Post-registration experience at a senior level (Band 7 or above) in specialty area
4. Evidence of ongoing CPD
5. Advanced clinical assessment skills
6. Excellent communication skills
7. Ability to perform in stressful and complex situations
8. Sound clinical reasoning & decision making
9. Flexibility
10. Ability to inspire and lead a team
About Us
In the last six months, the site has merged partnership with North Shoebury Surgery. We have gone from strength to strength working as a fully digital accessible platform with our patients. The clinical team triage throughout the day, appointments are offered via links for the patients to choose and book the date, time, and site of their preference.
The partnership offers face-to-face along with virtual appointments, patients have the freedom of choice as well as sites of preference.
Clinically we have a wide range of skills ranging from HCA, GPA, practice nurse, associate nurse practitioner, advanced nurse practitioner, prescribing paramedic, GP, pharmacy technician, and lead pharmacy technician.
Both sites are nurse and GP training, we have various students that train and work with the team throughout the year, this is something we are extremely proud to be able to offer.
