We are seeking a consultant psychiatrist to join one of our adult inpatient units in Wedgwood House, Bury St Edmunds.

Main Duties of the Job
This is an exciting time to be a part of our Crisis Pathway, with ambitions to provide the best quality care to all in need of crisis/acute care. As the Consultant for one of our two adult inpatient admission wards, you will be providing excellent clinical leadership for acute care and contributing to the development of the wider Pathway. You will be working with a supportive MDT to deliver high quality care, in line with national standards, and making a valued contribution to the development and implementation of acute care pathways for those in need of hospital admission.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Entry on the GMC register
* Section 12(2) Approved under the Mental Health Act (MHA)
* Approved Clinician Status
* Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCST
Experience
* At least 6 months experience in specific specialty
* 3 years or equivalent medical experience
* Evidence of knowledge of diagnosis, treatment and management of complex mental illness
Teaching
* Experience of supervising junior medical staff
* Teaching and presentation skills
Clinical Governance
* A clear understanding of Clinical Governance
* Demonstrate a commitment to open review of practice
