We have an immediate contract opportunity for a Performance & Dynamics Engineer to join a busy team where you will assist in developing and expanding the capabilities of our Engineering Services division in the UK.
As a Performance & Dynamics Engineer, you will work on major programmes within the Systems Engineering team. The role is initially for 6-12 months but may extend. It is based in Gloucester, with the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis after initial training - a minimum of 3 days per week site based.
You will be delivering performance and dynamic analysis for the mechanical, hydraulic, and occasionally basic electrical systems as they relate to the operation of aircraft, landing gear, shock absorption, extension/retraction, and steering.
You will be able to understand and derive requirements and how these impact the validation and verification of the product utilising standardised methods and tools. Possessing good knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic system products, you will help guide product development to ensure the performance and dynamics of the integrated system meet the program requirements.
Key aspects of this job include:
1. Build computational models and run simulations
2. Calculate static and dynamic loads
3. Conduct performance and frequency response analyses
4. Conduct stability, shimmy, modal analysis, and failure case analyses
5. Correlate and validate computational models
6. Write and validate performance and dynamics requirements
7. Define and document simulation cases and pass/fail criteria
8. Optimise design solutions in conjunction with other engineering disciplines
9. Define test requirements and analyse and interpret test results
10. Adherence to the programme schedules
11. Ensure compliance with aerospace standards
