Job Title: Azure Cloud Engineer
Location: Manchester, UK (Remote)
Salary: £65,000 per annum
We are looking for a skilled Cloud Engineer with expertise in Azure to join the growing team. This role is ideal for someone experienced in migrating to Azure, particularly with a focus on Azure Virtual Desktops and other VDI solutions, while also having a strong understanding of on-premise infrastructure. Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and execute migrations to Azure, ensuring seamless transition of workloads and infrastructure.
2. Design, deploy, and manage Azure Virtual Desktop environments and similar VDI solutions.
3. Ensure efficient hybrid infrastructure integration between Azure and on-prem systems.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect cloud strategies that align with business goals.
5. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Azure and on-premise infrastructure.
6. Monitor performance, optimise cloud infrastructure, and ensure robust security practices are followed.
7. Provide guidance on best practices for cloud adoption, cost management, and scalability.
Key Requirements:
1. Proven experience with Azure migrations, particularly involving Azure Virtual Desktops and other VDI technologies.
2. Strong understanding of on-premise infrastructure (e.g., networking, servers, storage) and its integration with cloud solutions.
3. Hands-on experience with Azure services such as Azure AD, Azure Networking, and Azure Storage.
4. Ability to manage and troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure environments.
5. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and present technical information to stakeholders.
Desirable Skills:
1. Experience with other VDI platforms.
2. Knowledge of Azure DevOps, automation, and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., ARM Templates, Terraform).
3. Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Administrator.
