Clinical Research Fellow in Rheumatology
Applications are invited for a Clinical Research Fellow within R&D Theme 5 (Barnet and Chase Farm), Rheumatology at Barnet Hospital, Chase Farm Hospital & Edgware Community Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The appointee will work within the R&D at the Royal Free London Hospitals NHS Trust, focusing on Phase II to IV rheumatology trials. This position is cross-site and offers an exciting opportunity to join a committed team of consultants in a well-developed service. Responsibilities include patient care and recruitment into clinical trials.
The successful candidate will gain a range of generic and transferable skills, including trial design and management, and will be expected to publish research manuscripts and present at national and international meetings. This post is ideally suited for trainees looking to strengthen their CV for specialist training or ACF positions within Rheumatology, or for senior trainees seeking entry points into postgraduate research. The position will run for a 12-month period.

Education & Professional Qualifications
* Membership of relevant Royal College or overseas equivalent
* Good Clinical Practice Training Certificate
Experience
* Relevant experience in medical specialties including rheumatology
* Work in a clinical trials environment
* Experience of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level
* Experience in data collection, management, analysis, and presentation
* Involvement in the clinical audit process and an understanding of its aims
Skills and Aptitudes
* Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
* Ability to take on tasks and responsibilities in a multi-professional team and work effectively and sensitively within it
* Proven ability in relevant subject areas
* Ability to provide clinical supervision
