At Saint Gobain Abrasives, we are looking for an experienced and autonomous Demand Planner to work closely with our commercial teams across Northern Europe and the UK and coordinate the Demand and Inventory needs of the regions.
As an influential role within Abrasives, you will naturally harvest a bigger picture view and capture the longer-term commercial needs across your regions. You will be a critical thinker and passionate about continuous improvement, seeking to be involved in activities and projects to achieve world-class customer satisfaction in line with ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015.
Saint Gobain Abrasives is part of Saint-Gobain UK & Ireland and manufactures and distributes high-quality abrasive products to engineering, distribution, and retail markets.
This is a hybrid role working 3 days a week in our Stafford-based head office.
What we're looking for:
A strategic professional with proven experience in managing and optimising the demand forecasting process. Skilled in analysing data, market trends, and various factors that influence demand to ensure that stock levels and inventory are aligned with customer needs and business goals across your regions.
To be successful you will have:
1. Strong analytical skills, with a high attention to detail and accuracy.
2. Ability to translate complex data into simple to understand information.
3. Excellent planning and organisation skills. Able to work to tight deadlines and changing (and sometimes conflicting) priorities.
4. Communication skills, with the ability to interact with a wide range of employees across the organisation.
5. IT literate (advanced Microsoft Office), with proven experience in an ERP background.
6. Experience of SAP, MRP and Business Intelligence reporting essential.
7. Full driving license.
What you will be doing:
Influential in the regions' operational efficiency and profitability, you will ensure accurate demand forecasting, cost reduction, and improve customer satisfaction through better product availability and service levels, constantly looking for ways to improve and better our delivery.
Day to day you will:
1. Lead and conduct Demand Reviews up to the level of Key Account.
2. Be the demand contact for day-to-day forecast queries.
3. Be responsible for the month-end forecast cleansing process within Futurmaster software.
4. Be responsible for the implementation of small-mid customer-driven projects, including SRF (Stock Request), range reviews, or implementing new customer requirements.
5. SAP Material Master setup for new product introductions.
6. Support the implementation of a World Class Manufacturing (WCM)/Lean culture within the UK Supply Chain and Warehouse teams by leading projects.
7. Analyse Supply Chain cost and efficiency; recommending and leading initiatives to enable improved 'Cost to Serve' and improved SGA profitability.
8. Complete complex pieces of analysis, across all aspects of the Supply Chain including customer profiling, SKU order profiling, lead time/fragmentation performance.
9. Coordinate Monthly 'Stock in Decline' process to minimise obsolete stock.
10. Co-ordinate vendor performance improvements across all deliverables outlined within our Vendor Manual.
11. Support Head of Customer Experience and Supply Chain in Internal Business Control adherence as well as external business systems compliance (FSC Chain of Custody and ISO 9001:2015).
12. Produce, monitor and make recommendations on departmental KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), including those relating to Customer Service Index (CSI), Inventory, vendor performance, quality, delivery (OTIF), and finance/budget.
13. Produce relevant management information, including reports, as required (including, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc basis).
14. Any other ad hoc duties relative to the level and nature of the role.
15. Comply with SGA's requirements for Safety, Health and the Environment.
