Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Electrical Test & Commissioning Engineer, based in Aberdeen.
Responsibilities:
1. Delivering both workshop and site-based activities in line with the Company's service and manufacturing portfolio.
2. Demonstrate excellent electrical fault finding and rectifications skills, along with good commercial awareness skills to provide top level customer service and technical support.
3. Perform installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance of protective relaying equipment.
4. Perform function testing of control circuits on relay panels, transformers, and circuit breakers.
5. Perform end-to-end protection relay testing.
6. Carry out repairs and maintenance on switchgear and circuit breakers, replacing SF6 gas, as well as routine switchgear assembly.
7. Complete all paperwork including reports, timesheets, and expense claims in a timely and accurate manner to support the efficient processing of invoices.
8. Create and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and providing specialist support and solutions.
9. Ensure that issues and risks are escalated to Management to allow adequate investigation and resolution.
10. Ensure that risk assessments and method statements are correct for the work involved and signed by all involved.
11. Travel and work at site outside of regular office hours as and when required.

Experience & Qualifications:
1. Relevant experience of installing, maintaining, and testing.
2. Knowledge of:
* HV and LV switchgear, relays and associated equipment e.g., transformers, circuit breakers, fuses, arresters, switches, automation, insulated power cables, overhead line conductors and insulators.
* Power transmission and distribution systems.
* Electrical prints, schematics and single-line diagrams.
* Metering instrumentation hardware and software.
* Panel wiring.
1. High level of PC literacy – MS Excel.
2. Excellent written and verbal skills.
3. Attention to detail.
4. Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practice and industry performance standards.
5. Project management skills.
6. Experience of developing and managing systems such as ISO 9001, 14001 & 18001/45001 through accredited bodies.
7. Track record of working with auditors and clients.
