You will have the opportunity to experience rotations within the areas of major trauma, acute medicine, specialist surgery, oncology & haematology, health care for older people, stroke, and neurosciences, as well as the Norman Power Unit which is based off-site.
The successful applicant should have excellent communication skills, a flexible approach, and the ability to work autonomously in a busy hospital environment. Organisational and time management skills are essential. You will need to have experience of working within the Acute NHS.
On joining the team, you will have access to regular clinical supervision, support to complete the 12-month preceptorship programme, and a range of CPD opportunities including in-house training. You will have the opportunity to use your sound clinical knowledge and experience and to work autonomously within a multi-disciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
On each rotation, you will work autonomously to manage a clinical caseload with support. You should have excellent communication skills and a flexible approach. Excellent organisational and time management skills are essential. You will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team.
The individual will have essential prioritisation skills, demonstrate client-centred practice, and demonstrate an understanding of the OT process within the Acute Hospital setting. The individual should have relevant clinical experience specific to the post, and you will need to have experience of working within the Acute NHS.
You should provide evidence of relevant courses and training as well as commitment to ongoing CPD. You will be supported to complete the 12-month preceptorship programme if you have not already done so. You will receive regular supervision as well as annual appraisals.

* BSc in Occupational Therapy / Diploma in Occupational Therapy
* Current registration with the HCPC, or awaiting this (for new graduates).
* A levels or equivalent qualification
* GCSE maths and English grade C and above, or equivalent for international applicants.
