Planned Care and Commissioning
ANP Band 7 or Trainee ANP Band 6, Critical Care Outreach Team and Acute Pain Service
Permanent 28.75 HOURS
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ANP/ Trainee ANP post within Critical Care Outreach and Acute Pain Team, BGH.
We are looking for a committed and dynamic ANP/Trainee ANP with excellent communication skills and a real desire and passion to work with people. If you are passionate about patient care delivering high standards whilst ensuring that our patients have a good experience, you’re the person we want.
You should have significant post registration critical care experience to support your application. The ability to think quickly on your feet whilst remaining professional and calm at all times is essential. As a Trainee Advanced NMAHP Practitioner, you will be developed to function as an autonomous practitioner working independently and in conjunction with other health professionals. You will assess, diagnose and initiate treatment, investigations, advice and management of patients with a range of conditions using professional decision-making processes to ensure safe, patient-centered care. This will be facilitated in partnership with patients, carers, and families. Within this role, you will be required to work collaboratively across healthcare boundaries to develop advanced NMAHP practice within Critical Care Outreach.
You should also have experience supporting the professional development of others including teaching, clinical supervision, and the application of research and audit underpinned by a strong knowledge of current care issues. You should possess the ability to prioritise fluctuating workloads, remain focused, work across professional boundaries, and be flexible.
It is essential you are educated to First level degree or equivalent and have a proven track record in a senior NHS role, with a knowledge and understanding of Critical Care and Acute pain. A current driving licence is essential. This post is for 28.75 hours per week covering 7 days. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check.
We are fully committed to supporting you to progress your Continuous Professional Development towards a Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Practice.
The training post will be employed as a Band 6 under Annexe 21. Advanced practice competencies will be supported using a triangulation approach of academic courses, mentorship, and clinical supervision. On completion of qualification, the post holder will be guaranteed a Band 7 role.
For an informal discussion about the role please contact Lynne McCutcheon, CNM Planned Care 01896 827411.
***PLEASE NOTE: We cannot accept late applications so please ensure your application is submitted early***
*Please note: As this is a part-time post the salary shown will be pro rata*
NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37-hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid, until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Hiring Manager.
NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
