Are you looking for a role that offers a wider variety of interesting clients and the opportunity to progress? Do you enjoy coaching and supporting junior team members with their development? If your answer is yes, then you could be part of the day-to-day management of our talented Plymouth business advisory team. Monitoring, reviewing final accounts and tax computations alongside providing support with training matters and annual appraisals.
What you'll be doing day to day
1. Working with entrepreneurial clients who have growing businesses and need guidance and support from trusted advisors.
2. Leading key relationships with clients and being their trusted advisor.
3. Monitoring performance in terms of budgets, time and expenses; reviewing working papers for accuracy and completeness; and delivering quality accounts and tax compliance services with minimal Partner input.
4. Providing tax, accounting and general commercial advice to clients.
5. Resolving accounting and tax problems as they arise.
6. Ensuring that working papers, financial statements, tax returns and client files are prepared in accordance with the firm’s accepted standards.
7. Continuing the development of long-term professional relationships by communicating progress, problems, resolutions, financial information, tax activity and other business concerns to the client.
8. Reviewing with the engagement Partner significant findings that raise questions involving tax implications and possible tax planning opportunities.
9. Identifying opportunities to sell additional services to existing clients.
About you
1. ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent) or qualified by experience, with significant relevant experience in a similar role.
2. Experience of managing a portfolio of clients and assisting partners in maintaining client relationships.
3. Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation and tax compliance.
4. Proven background supervising a team of accounts staff.
5. Organised, accurate, flexible and able to plan use of time efficiently.
6. Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with both clients, team members and colleagues, with the aptitude to quickly build rapport.
7. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
