EMSOU is one of the largest collaborative policing units in the country, delivering specialist capabilities on behalf of the five East Midlands police forces. At EMSOU, we aim to modernise the way we think about data and technology, improving both our service to the public and our ability to tackle serious and organised crime.
As a Senior Solutions Architect at EMSOU, you will oversee the design, build, and operation of scalable and reliable infrastructure solutions across several platforms. You should have experience with cloud fundamentals, including deployment methods, security, cost management, and use these skills to enhance EMSOU's infrastructure. You will lead a team of technical experts and collaborate with colleagues across the five East Midlands forces to deliver solutions aligned with the National Policing Digital Strategy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design and develop digital solutions based on business needs, working with solutions architects and project teams to implement technology that supports business transformation.
2. Engage with the business to foster an environment that recognizes and exploits opportunities, ensuring efficient and effective IT service performance for EMSOU, regional forces, and partners.
3. Design, monitor, and deliver an IT work programme supporting the organisation's strategic digital goals.
4. Assist and advise users and criminal justice partners in modifying business processes to maximize benefits of new and existing systems, aligned with current business and Digital Data and Technology strategies.
The must haves
* Degree-level qualification in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent qualifications and experience such as MBCS or significant IT experience.
* Knowledge of cloud architecture, preferably AWS, Azure, or other major providers.
* Experience in strategizing and identifying solutions for IT infrastructure, including physical, virtual, and cloud platforms.
* Experience supervising teams implementing systems that meet security standards (e.g., British standards, ISO, Cyber Essentials).
