Brokerage Officer – Walsall £13.02 Do you have an understanding of the Adult Social Care agenda and localised social care practice, including care management assessment and support? This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of the Adult Social Care Team who are looking to appoint a Brokerage Officer on a temporary contract contributing to the efficient delivery of essential services for vulnerable adults. The main purpose of the Brokerage Officer is to be part of a proactive Adult social care commissioned care brokerage team, who will: Negotiate directly with care providers in support of service users requiring care services; Ensure that service users receive appropriate support in a timely manner and in accordance with the Social Care and Support, Assessment and Care Management process; Develop positive relationships with the care providers across the health and social care economy, involving significant time spent communicating and negotiating with the providers to ensure that the service user receives care at the right time and in the right place; Operate compliantly within contracted frameworks in the commissioning of health and social care; Provide an effective interface across health and social care teams, advising on contractual and market management issues, with a view to supporting value for money decision making and securing best outcomes for customers. Specific Duties To deliver a responsive micro commissioning service Ensure service users receive right care at the right time within budgeted envelope Deliver the service in a compliant way, adhering to contractual frameworks Ensure effective operation of an escalation process for potential care delivery or service user concerns; potential capacity pressures resulting in inability to broker care To undertake the function of micro commissioning short and longer term care services with care providers for commissioned care providers. This includes negotiating service agreements, such as call times and call duration for the service user. To work closely with social care and support teams to maximise value for money and care outcomes for the service users To support the delivery of commissioned care contract agreements for adult social care services, interfacing between Social Care teams, external care service providers, Procurement and Commissioners To lead on varying existing care packages and cancellations of commissioned care To record and inform commissioning colleagues on market management issues to inform commissioning intentions and market development To operationalise personal budgets via direct payments, to enable service users to commission their own care If you have excellent communication skills and the experience of making critical decisions with skill then this role is just for you.
