* Opportunity to lead on Commercial & HNW Products
About the role
Due to growth, we are seeking an additional Portfolio Manager for our Wholesale Broking and Outplacement Services department, known as National Intermediary Services (NIS). This role is a key part of the leadership team within NIS.
Our mission at NIS is straightforward: we assist our Agency Network in winning and retaining more customers by broking into the wider insurance market to support specific needs in their insurance programs.
Joining us during this period of progressive change offers numerous growth opportunities and chances for career progression, as the business is set to nearly double in size over the next five years. This is an exciting opportunity to grow with us and contribute to our success.
As a Portfolio Manager, you will support gap-fill and additional solutions for Commercial and High Net Worth products. The role will also include the development of existing product classes, such as Marine Cargo and Group Personal Accident & Travel. The ability to learn and train on new product areas will be provided.
Your key responsibilities will include developing and maintaining effective relationships within the insurance market to determine solutions, strategies, and processes, ensuring long-term sustainability. You’ll implement impartial selection of new insurance partners to maintain a market-leading supply chain panel that supports the NIS strategy.
Additionally, you’ll ensure the quality and delivery of products and services meet customer needs, review and report on conversion, retention, and pricing performance to ensure targets are met, and develop products to ensure a market-leading offering for our customers.
Engaging with the wider NFUM community to understand business needs and deliver complementary solutions will be a crucial part of your role as well as being involved in activities that involve the promotion / roll out of a product to the agency network (which can include a combination of webinars, seminars, roadshows, etc.).
This role falls under Insurance Distribution Directive requirements, and as a result, role holders will be required to demonstrate ongoing Continuous Professional Development in role, along with undergoing regular re-screening to show that they are of “Good Repute”. Further information can be found in the FCA Handbook.
