An exciting opportunity has become available with our prestigious client who is a prominent government department. The client is seeking an experienced User Researcher to join their welcoming team.
This User Researcher role will sit within the Future of Operational Meteorology Tools & Systems project to backfill an existing User Researcher for the remainder of the project. The project mission is to deliver up-to-date tools that utilise advances from Science and the new Supercomputer output, to best support Operational Meteorologists in providing insight to customers, so they can stay safe and thrive. The UX team within this project is focused on ensuring the tools are innovative, user-focused, and accessible to all our Operational Meteorologists and the supporting teams for our multi-faceted services.
This role will be embedded in a multidisciplinary team and will be responsible for planning and carrying out user research activities. The User Researcher represents the voice of our diverse range of users by using user-centred design methodologies to deeply understand their needs. The role will form part of the organisation’s dedicated User Experience team, championing UX best practice within projects to help build a user-focused culture.
A User Researcher will:
* Be expected to work independently on a team
* Plan and carry out user research activities within a product/service context
* Conduct user research to provide insights that inform the creation or iteration of organisation products and services
* Analyse and synthesise user research findings using a range of methodologies and techniques
* Create clear findings that help your team continuously improve your service, based on data and evidence
* Present findings and user insights to stakeholders, teams and users to help align and inform decision-making
* Involve the team in user research to help everyone develop a deep understanding of your users
* Use the best tools and approaches to understand the user needs
* Be an active member of the UX practice to support a user-centred culture across the organisation
* Recruit participants for user research and schedule research for a product/service
