Our innovative heat batteries utilise advanced phase change materials and are now manufactured by our team on the outskirts of Edinburgh. The Opportunity
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead engineering efforts across various projects, ensuring efficient project delivery and development of a talented team. You will leverage your expertise across engineering disciplines – mechanical, product, electrical, innovation, and project engineering – to make informed decisions that bring commercial value to the business.
You will be both a technical leader and a hands-on manager, able to mentor and develop your team while engaging with senior stakeholders and adapting to new challenges with ease. This role requires flexible, robust and confident leadership with a deep understanding of the entire product and engineering lifecycle.
Key Areas of Accountability:
• Lead Engineering Projects: Take ownership of company-wide engineering initiatives and oversee the execution and delivery of projects from concept to completion.
• Product Management and Compliance: Oversee the management of the product throughout its lifecycle and ensure all products meet relevant industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Resource Management: Coordinate and allocate resources effectively across multiple projects and ensure that all engineering resources are optimally utilised.
• Team Leadership and Development: Manage, mentor and develop a multi-disciplinary engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the point of contact for stakeholders across the business, translating technical challenges into commercial solutions.
• Hands-on Technical Leadership: Provide guidance on mechanical, electrical, product, and project engineering matters and apply your knowledge to solve real-world problems.
• Adaptability to Change: Respond proactively to shifting priorities and business needs and provide calm, confident leadership under pressure.
What You Will Need :
* A minimum of 10 years experience having built a credible and technical career within engineering with roles across mechanical, electrical, product, innovation, design and/or HVAC functions.
o Previous management of the product lifecycle is fundamental and experience in electrical and/or HVAC, household domestic appliances, electrical whitegoods would be desirable.
+ Experience of working within manufacturing, engineering and/or electrical environments is essential in this role.
