The Surgical Care Group is looking for a full-time Patient Admission Pathway Co-ordinator (PAPC) to support the elective surgical admissions. You will be organised, able to work under pressure, computer literate with excellent communication skills.
The PAPC will work within the Day Surgery Unit and will be responsible for contacting all patients booked onto the elective pathway for surgery to ensure all pre-assessment advice has been followed and confirming attendance. The PAPC will escalate to the appropriate specialty to manage any concerns which may impact surgical admissions.
Main duties of the job
The Patient Admission Pathway Co-ordinator (PAPC) will work within the Day Surgery Unit (DSU) to confirm the patient’s admission for elective surgery to reduce cancellations on the day of surgery. The PAPC will contact patients booked onto the elective theatre lists to confirm their attendance and discuss specific questions to confirm if pre-operative requirements have been adhered to.

* Knowledge of Trust IT systems including Careflow, iFit & Bluespier
* Degree
Skills/Abilities
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Experience in producing and presenting reports
Experience/Knowledge
* Knowledge of NHS service provision including the patient pathway
* Proven experience working in a similar role in a hospital/healthcare setting
