Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Chiller Engineer to join one of our growing clients in the Reading Area. The ideal candidate will specialize in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of chiller systems in commercial, industrial, and residential settings. As a Chiller Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of chiller systems, focusing on performance optimization, energy efficiency, and compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Installation & Commissioning: Oversee the installation of chiller systems, ensuring all components are installed correctly and according to the manufacturer's specifications and industry standards. Commission chiller systems and perform system tests to confirm operational efficiency.
* Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Conduct regular inspections, servicing, and maintenance of chiller systems to ensure optimal performance. Identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults, providing timely and effective solutions to minimize system downtime.
* System Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve the performance and energy efficiency of chiller systems. Suggest upgrades, replacements, or modifications to increase system reliability and reduce operating costs.
* Energy Efficiency: Analyze the energy consumption of chiller systems and recommend strategies for reducing energy use and improving sustainability, ensuring that systems run efficiently and in compliance with local energy regulations.
* Compliance & Safety: Ensure that all chiller systems meet local safety codes, regulations, and environmental standards, including refrigerant management. Stay up-to-date with current laws and industry best practices.
* Client Interaction: Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide technical solutions. Offer recommendations for system upgrades or replacements and explain technical details in clear, accessible terms.
* Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities. Prepare and submit detailed reports for clients or management, including diagnostics and recommended next steps.
* Team Collaboration: Work alongside other engineers, contractors, and technicians to ensure the seamless installation, operation, and maintenance of chiller systems. Mentor junior engineers and technicians when necessary.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
* Proven experience with chiller systems, including installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs.
* Strong knowledge of chiller system components, including compressors, evaporators, condensers, and associated controls.
* Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and design software for chiller systems.
* In-depth understanding of HVAC systems, refrigerants, and related industry regulations and standards.
* Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to both clients and team members effectively.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
