Role Overview
Bupa’s Group Investment Fund (GIF) is a worldwide fund set up to accelerate the delivery of Bupa’s strategy, focusing on initiatives aligned to our purpose of helping people live longer, healthier, happier lives, and making a better world. The fund is available to Market Units to help fund largely Environmental, Social and Governance (ESGC) initiatives globally.
This is an exciting opportunity to help deliver a world class finance partnering service to teams accessing the Fund (across both Market Units and the Group Functions).
The Finance Business Partner will have a key role in preparing material for and attending the monthly GIF Governance Committee, which is co-chaired by both the Group Chief Financial Officer and Group People and Sustainability Officer.
What you’ll do:
1. Collaborate with both project teams, oversight specialists and Market Units to ensure accurate tracking of GIF funded projects and their financial spend.
2. Provide best in class MI to enable full transparency on GIF spend versus budget and forecasts, benefit tracking and ensure accurate and up to date forecast is available at all times.
3. Feed into the monthly reporting process, providing insightful commentaries on financial performance.
4. Influence and lead finance and non-finance stakeholders and develop good working relationships with other departments.
5. Responsible to produce high quality, timely and accurate MI for presentation to the GIF Governance Committee, CEC and Board level as required, including detailed and robust analysis, and other ad hoc reporting as required by the business.
6. Take a proactive approach to modify/develop MI to meet the needs of stakeholders in measuring progress and success.
7. Collation and summarise business cases for approval to the GIF Governance Committee.
8. Accurate tracking of project benefits associated with GIF funded projects.
9. Work closely with the wider Finance team to ensure issues that impact the wider team are communicated, with clear actions to resolve.
10. Assist in shaping and implementing required changes and enhancements to Finance processes and reporting.
11. Document, communicate and assist in the resolution of risks and issues as and when they arise.
12. Finance business partner to certain Group Functions (e.g. Brand) where projects are primarily funded via the GIF.
What you’ll bring:
1. ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified.
2. Strong Finance Business Partner experience.
3. Excellent relationship building, presentation and communication skills to establish good rapport with non-financial oriented individuals and other Bupa finance teams.
4. Ability to work effectively under pressure, managing conflicting tasks/requests and meet strict deadlines.
5. Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills with a proven ability to bridge financial knowledge-gaps.
6. Strong stakeholder management experience, building and strengthening relationships within the business at all levels.
7. Demonstrated ability to design and develop business performance reporting on financial and non-financial data, providing clear and insightful information for decision making.
8. Experience in implementing strong financial controls and improving the efficiency of standard monthly/quarterly processes.
9. Project tracking and project accounting.
10. Solid management accounting and excel skills.
11. Proactive and curious attitude.
